Synopsis

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is set in Paris in 1899 and follows a young poet from England that goes by the name of Christian. The Englishman is infatuated by Satine, a cabaret actress and courtesan, who dances at the well known Moulin Rouge club, famed as the dazzling venue “where all your dreams come true.”

As the story develops, Christian, alongside his like-minded Bohemians: Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and the Argentinean Santiago, enters the Moulin Rouge club. But they’re not the only characters to step foot into the glamorous club, as, at the same time, the show introduces the wealthy Duke of Monroth.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a romantic tale that is centered around two lovers who are kept apart by society. Although Satine is madly in love with Christian, she is also bound to the Duke. The manager at the Moulin Rouge club has promised her hand in marriage in return for funding the next cabaret show. As the young lovers meet up in secret, Satine’s big day draws ever closer. But, the dancer is keeping something from both Christian and the aristocratic Duke.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical, much like the movie, features a score that seamlessly blends original hits with famous chart-toppers, including songs that have been released over more than two decades that have passed since the movie hit the silver screen.
